In 2018, Breanna contracted Lyme disease serving as an Army soldier. Around the same time, she suffered a mold illness and a traumatic brain injury (TBI) that went undiagnosed for years. The challenge of military insurance limitations caused her and husband Anthony, who is also a soldier, to spend over $32,000 for treatment and other expenses. They faced even more challenges when traveling to Indianapolis for continued care while he trained for the Special Forces. These treatments drained their savings while Breanna’s health continued to decline. They sought alternative care, including hyperbaric oxygen therapy, which has helped her rebuild her immune system and treat the TBI. Helping the Home Front contributed by paying off their personal loan for multiple costly treatments. Currently, she is under careful medical supervision and rapidly regaining her strength.
While her husband is on a 7-month deployment, she is now able to care for their son, which she was not able to do a year ago, and continue on the road to recovery.
Breanna: “I couldn’t leave my house, I was so fatigued. Finding you confirmed in my mind that I was supposed to be alive and God had not forgotten me.”
