Navy Sailor AT2 Ryan is deployed overseas on the USS Gerald Ford. Recently, his grandmother passed away. Although Ryan was granted emergency leave to fly home for the funeral, he and his wife simply didn’t have the thousands of dollars it cost to pay for the flight. That’s when Helping the Home Front stepped in. We paid for Ryan’s flight home so he could be with family.

Ryan says, “I want to tell you thank you for providing this assistance in a time of need. My wife and I cannot tell you how blessed we are to be assisted in this way so that I can be with my family for a few days as we grieve the loss of a beloved grandmother.”

His wife Ashley adds, “We don’t have the words to describe how grateful we are for the gracious help we received in bringing my husband home from deployment when his grandmother died. Our family needed those moments together more than we realized and it was an immense blessing to be able to soak them in without financial worry. Flying someone last-minute halfway around the world is stressful and full of unknowns. Thank you for lifting the financial barrier and for handling the whole process in such a kind and understanding way. We are forever grateful and humbled. This blessing will never be lost on us.”
